Another month and it seems like little has occurred in the creative department. Life in general seems to be taking up much more of my time that it used to. I am still struggling to get into any kind of creactive groove and only spend a very short space of time doing creative things.
On the positive side, I have managed to submit a piece to Radiophrenia again this year, it was a piece from my latest Capsules album using Volca instruments. Greatly influenced by the events this year and written in the middle of lockdown so it felt like an appropriate piece to send in. We shall have to wait and see if it is selected for the program in November.
At the moment we are still managing a weekly band practice for The Sacred Woods. We are playing in our garage and although both Preston, and now ourselves, have had increased lockdown restrictions I am justifying us getting together as it is work, not socialising. We are able to maintain 2m distance from each other so I think we are justified in continuing to meet. We will need to keep an eye on the restrictions though as I would not be surprised if they increased further. We have had a little interest in bookings but nothing firm in the diary yet. To be honest I am not too bothered by this as I think both Pip and I would find gigging quite stressful in the current climate.
I have another Capsules album ready to go to the publishes so will try and get that loaded over the next week for a late October early November release.
No sign of getting KittyHawk together, part of the problem is that we are from 3 different households but I suppose we could take the same approach about it being work and that would justify meeting. 5 in one room in a house though does make distancing impossible so for now we continue to wait for the restrictions to reduce.
As always, I have loads of ideas for work but struggle too find the time to get them started. Lets see what the rest of the year brings…
