Well, after all the hard work of putting new songs into the set list and looking forward to our first gig since March, we have been put into the second lockdown. So our gig in November is cancelled and I don’t think we will get another in before the end of the year.

We have also had to put a hold on rehearsals during the lockdown until the restrictions ease a little. In the first lockdown we managed to do a variety of videos filmed at our separate locations and then worked into a single video so I think we are going to have a go at doing that again. We have added a new original into the set so that would be a really good tune to try first. I actually made a solo video of the piece during the first lockdown before we had the chance to try the piece as a band so it will be really interesting to compare the two and see how the piece has evolved since that first recording.

I was really pleased to have a piece that I submitted selected for Radiophrenia, the online radio broadcast that runs for 2 weeks in Glasgow featuring some excellent experimental music and exploring the way radio is used. I have not produced any new experimental material for quite a while so I really should try and get back to it, perhaps this new lockdown will provide some impetus to doing so.

Not much else occurring at the moment. Opportunities still exist and I could spend more time writing new tunes. I have quite a catalogue of solo material and I really should work on my solo performance; perhaps do some live video recordings to see how it looks. Perhaps that should be my focus for the next few weeks.

Anyhoo, stay safe and onwards!
