From a creative perspective February has been very special for quite a few years. I have been taking part in February Album Writing Month for 8 years and it is also a great experience. It is an online community event for 1 month in February where we accept the challenge to write 14 songs in 28 days. Songwriters and lyricists from all over the world take part and it is a very supportive and welcoming environment.

I was worried that this year might be difficult for me because for the last 12 months my creativity had taken a real knock and i was not sure if I would get the usual massive flow of ideas like I have always had in previous years. Well I needn’t have worried. I completed the 14 songs in 20 days so may still get some more written before the end of the month. There are always so stinkers but there are always some that I will work on a little more and maybe perform live or record properly at some point. It was great to get back to writing and it felt, for a short time at least, that some normality had returned. As I mentioned last month, I have been meditating for the last few weeks with the London Buddhist Centre and this has influenced a number of the songs I have written during FAWM. I think it gave me an interesting direction to take and it was great to focus on creating some positive songs.
I had planned to do a video for The Sacred Woods. Pip and I managed to get our parts recorded and videoed for ‘Stuck in the middle with you’. I am going to send them to Tim but he may not get anything recorded as he has some medical treatment looming over the next month or too so needs to take it easy and look after himself.
Well, not much else has happened. Things look they may change for the better within the next few weeks on the lockdown front, so we shall see.
Stay safe.
