songs from the sacred wood album (1)It has been a very busy start to the year. With our new acoustic trio we have been working on our debut EP. The songs are written and basic layouts are tracked. Artwork is complete and we are in the planning stages for a video to go with the first single of the EP. In support of this I have been busy trying to secure gig, both covers and originals to keep the experience level up. It is surprising how quickly the confidence drops once you have a few weeks out from performing.

We have plans for some open mics to try and fill in the gaps and that should also be a great way to network with other artist that are out there doing the do.

I ended the year with an experimental album release, it was the next one in the ‘A collection of notes’ series and it was great to spend some time on the experimental work. http://julesbryant.bandcamp.com/album/a-collection-of-notes-part-2-2

My work on The Blue Penguin Collective has been very quiet in January and this is due to me continuing struggle to juggle all my projects. I still get focused on one area at the detriment to all the others and I can’t see a way through this.

I need to set some time aside to pull the materials together for the 2 one year long projects that ran for the whole of 2018. There is some really interesting material there and some opportunities to work with other artist or community groups to pull the whole thing into meaningful artworks.

The rest of the month will be trying to get the final effort completed on the EP and then moving into the madness that is FAWM February Album Writing Month (more on that in the next blog).

Busy times.
